About Karen

Karen moved to the Southern Highlands from Sydney 10 years ago, in search of a less frenzied lifestyle. After initially establishing a private practice at The Mews in Bowral, specializing in child, adolescent and family psychology, Karen has since relocated her private practice to Mittagong and is dedicated to providing discrete, professional and effective psychological services to individuals and families in the Highlands community.

Karen's professional and clinical experience is varied, encompassing play therapy for children, family therapy, specific psychological assessments for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioural problems and learning difficulties, and individual counselling. Karen also has extensive experience in the assessment of work-related stress in adults, including police officers, teachers and youth and community services employees. Hence, and whereas Karen's specialty is child and adolescent psychology, she welcomes enquires from individuals, both employees and employers, in relation to workplace mental health issues.

Regardless of who the client is, the nature of their concerns, or their history, Karen's practice is founded on the premise that treatment must be non-judgmental, non-blaming and, above all, supportive. Her primary concern is to work with individuals and families in order to achieve practical solutions to common psychological problems.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Health Science in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. She is registered as a Psychologist with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board, is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s Child, Adolescent and Family Psychology Interest Group (CAFPIG). She has worked with children and families for much of the past two decades and has practiced as a Psychologist for more than a decade.
